During a trip to Sweden this Christmas, I had a few hours to spare during the night of the 29th
and met up with Henrik. Naturally we played a bit of Train Agent; Henrik caked a 1:01 on his first try
playing the game in a year, a 0:54 with Bond Invisible (try it, it's a fun category!) and I duped a few 100s —
a little underwhelming on my part considering that two months earlier I was duping multiple 56s
a session. But this might've been a result of my unfamiliarity with Henrik's medical-taped and incredibly sensitive stick.
This meet was also a few days after the new Dam gate trick bonanza, so I tried a bit of Dam Agent,
but was too rusty to play anything other than Train (let alone on cinema...) and ended ~15 minutes in after a few embarrassing 0:38s quitouts.
Perhaps the most interesting part of the meet was strat experimentation
on various levels (00A ammo dump through wall,
AFO glitch, and Rescue PA obj 1 through the wall -- I told MystycCheez about the messing around we did a couple of weeks later,
where the strat eventually came to fruition). Fun fact, I left his apartment late and nearly missed my Train back to Malmo!

My friends... even the pictures below fail to underscore the absolute silliness of this
incredible 5 day adventure of driving around Quebec and Ontario, watching the Solar Eclipse in all of its glory,
strolling the Disney-esque toon town on the Canadian side of Niagara Falls, admiring the beauty
of a marvellous little Ontarian beachtown, meeting various interesting characters, recording an impromptu
Goose documentary on digicam at an enroute,
pulling an Approach Her Now, and not watching Dune 2!
This also a great opportunity to publicly show a tour video, commentated by Sammo,
of the apartment I subleased from an interesting Mexican woman.

A surprise DM from Henrik telling me he was in town (and in fact, 15 minutes away from my apartment)
led to an epic day of streaming Train Agent, hiking up Mt. Royal, theorizing a better Silo 00 Agent strategy at the nearby pizzeria,
and talking about overdue untieds during a walk along the trails on a pleasant 17°C day. Perhaps the most interesting details I learnt were Henrik's own career, his strategy of
putting medical tape on the control stick for better grip, that he's an upright player and plays with an insanely good 10/10 stick, and that killing guards on the beginning of the level
is SO much better -- that was a gamechanger for me and I knew I was going to get a much better PB on the level during or after the meet, which turned out to be true.
I learnt a lot from watching his smooth, "buttery" gameplay, and it makes me wonder just how many details Eliters could learn from one another
by just "being there" instead of conveying information via tutorials.

Joris was touring Canada with his friends for a few days, so us locals planned a single-day meet at my apartment in Montreal.
Goose & I did a handful of comfy PD exploration streams live on Twitch prior to the meet, some of which are linked below.
Despite the 4 of us only being around for one day, a lot transpired: we streamed on
Twitch for a bit, walked around the city in the midst
of a downpour after stopping at Dollarama to buy a tarp as an umbrella style substitute, and had lunch
at a sports bar after dipping out of an Italian restaurant.

Shouldn't come as a surprise that my first ever in-person word to an Eliter was "mate" in
the classic Ace-smirk. Highlights including driving around the Montreal Island to the cozy shores, Justin buying me a $13 LCD that served me well for 3.5 years,
slaying the then-LSU Frigate Secret Agent 0:58 in less than an hour of playing it which we followed up with some great Pizza Hut and chocolate-chip cookie brownies,
for the first time in over a year, getting scammed out of a last-frame Facility 00 Agent 0:51 slay fail, Justin lending me his Super 64 (EverDrive knockoff) which I later
used to learn Ocarina of Time randomizer, and buying random slop off Walmart before meets.
At the time of writing this, I'm stunned it's been more than 2.5 years since our last meet!
